Twelve String Guitar
The twelve-string guitar, better known as the "Twelve String" and it is often written in cipher, is a guitar that produces a brighter and richer in harmonics than the standard six guitar strings, thanks to Doubling of each string.
The strings are associated two by two. This association is called a chorus. The twelve-string guitar has six choirs. Most frequently, each choir is granted on a note that the same standard guitar: mi - - D - ground - si - mi, going from low to high. The four choirs most serious are each composed of the usual string associated with a string one octave higher. The last two choruses are made each of identical strings. It is of course possible to modify the organization of choirs by changing the strings ad hoc.

The main advantage of double strings is to obtain a wealth of its impossible to make with a standard tuning, except for use of electronic effects. Indeed, each string being moved transmits its vibration to its neighbor that vibrates in sympathy itself retransmitting its vibration to the first string. The sound is so rich in harmonics and lasts more than a standard guitar.
The model of twelve-string guitar the most common format is acoustic guitar folk or electro-acoustic. There are a few models of electric twelve-string guitars, as modified versions of Fender Stratocaster, Gibson SG, etc.. There are also models rope reversed for left-handers. The number string is larger than the handle of a twelve-string is often slightly larger than a six string. In fact, there are capo-tastos adapted instrument longer than six strings.
This type of guitar is much less diffused than the six-string guitar, because of certain disadvantages:
* A higher price than the six strings as mechanics and setting the sound is more complex;
* The cost of the set of strings higher the number of strings doubled;
* Having to press two strings instead of one may repel beginners;
* Tuning is longer and more difficult because the gap between the two strings of the same chorus is immediately noticeable;
* The twelve-string has a reputation for hurting more quickly because of the large voltage applied to the handle;
* The game or picking arpeggios is more complicated.
In return, the amplitude of its wealth and its benefits are immediately noticeable.
